Getting Started with AppRankr

AppRankr TeamFebruary 10, 20262 min read

Welcome to AppRankr! This guide walks you through everything you need to do in your first 15 minutes to start improving your app's visibility in the Play Store and App Store.

Step 1: Create Your Free Account

Head to appranker.app/auth/register and sign up. The free tier includes:

  • 3 free analyses per day
  • 5 tracked keywords
  • 2 AI content generations per month
  • No credit card required

Step 2: Add Your First App

After signing in, you'll see the onboarding overlay. Search for your app by name or paste your Play Store / App Store URL directly. AppRankr will fetch your listing data automatically.

If you don't have a published app yet, you can still use the free public analyzer at appranker.app/analyze to study any app listing.

Step 3: Run Your First Analysis

Once your app is added, click Analyze to get your ASO score. The analyzer evaluates:

  • Title — length, keyword usage, branding
  • Description — keyword density, formatting, feature coverage
  • Visuals — icon, screenshots, feature graphic presence
  • Metrics — ratings, review count, download estimates

You'll get a score out of 100 along with specific recommendations to improve.

Step 4: Discover Keywords

Navigate to Keywords in the sidebar. Use the keyword suggestion tool to find relevant terms for your app. You can:

  • Get AI-powered keyword suggestions based on your app's category
  • See estimated traffic and competition scores
  • Track keywords to monitor your ranking over time

Tip: Focus on medium-traffic, low-competition keywords. These are easier to rank for and still drive meaningful installs.

Step 5: Track Your Competitors

Go to Competitors and add 2-3 apps in your category. AppRankr will monitor:

  • Their keyword rankings
  • Metadata changes (title, description updates)
  • Rating and review trends

This helps you spot opportunities they're missing and react to their ASO changes.

Step 6: Generate Optimized Content

Visit the AI Writer to generate ASO-optimized content using Claude AI:

  • Titles — keyword-rich titles that stay within character limits
  • Short descriptions — punchy 80-character summaries
  • Full descriptions — formatted, keyword-optimized descriptions with feature bullets
  • Localized listings — translate and adapt your content for other markets

Step 7: Review and Iterate

ASO is not a one-time task. Check your dashboard weekly to:

  • Review keyword ranking changes
  • Re-analyze after updating your listing
  • Monitor competitor movements
  • Generate fresh content for A/B testing
